Music can soundtrack our lives in so many different ways. It's the same in our stores, and what our office team are plugging in to their headphones. When it comes to what we play, there’s no fixed genre and no set rules. Just music that feels right and sets the atmosphere.
We’ve been sharing playlists from our Nottingham and London stores, and have also asked our head office team what they have been listening to recently.
Need somewhere to start? We’ve also asked the teams to pick out a few highlights from the lists.

Way Dynamic - Miffed it.
I chose this song/album for its balance. It is on heavy rotation as it’s well-balanced. It taps into a bit of everything while staying simple and authentic, making it easy to relate to and listen to, again and again.

Agya - Jembaa Groove (feat. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley).
Perhaps it’s placebo, but there is a distinct power in a space filled with collective joy and solidarity (these things are as important as ever). I spent much of 2025 seeking out these moments, and Jembaa Groove in Bristol were without question one of my favourites. Every track on their most recent album, Ye Ankasa | We Ourselves, is worthy of a spot on my list, but for me Agya plays like warm sun on bare skin. Both energetic or mellow depending on the need, yet nourishing, cathartic and joyful regardless.

Hitmen - Early Riser.
Two minutes of fuzzy guitars, sweet melodies and tasteful drum fills. Is it power pop? Is it punk? I don’t know but I can’t stop listening. I could have picked any of their songs but I picked the most recent. This is only their second release and I’m excited to see what comes out in the future.

Vera - Take Me to the Bridge.
I can’t remember where I first heard this track but it’s been a favourite of mine for a while. It has that classic disco vibe about it that feels very much of the times, but also never gets old. The vocals, the instrumental layers, all of it. There's also very limited info about who Vera is, creating an enigma that only adds to the allure. Definitely worth a listen!

Alex Kassian - Leave Your Life (Dance Mix).
Coming from a household where my parents grew up in the ’80s inevitably meant that music of all genres was playing constantly. I’ve found myself over the years piecing together the “good” elements of each of those genres in my own music taste. One of those familiar ’80s tunes, “Owner of a Lonely Heart”, has had many iterations since its initial release, but this version by Alex Kassian blends the familiarity of the original prog rock classic with modern dance-centric elements, whilst also teasing Yes’ chorus line throughout. This is the kind of song you could play at any time of day, anywhere in the world and still be impressed. Kassian’s other venture with Opal Sunn (The EP Elastic) is also a store favourite and one to look out for!

Let the Music Play - Charles Earland.
In my opinion, this is one of the greatest dance songs ever made. I always enjoy seeing customers start nodding their heads or tapping their feet to the infectious beat. How could you not? A terrific song for hot summer weather but also one that transcends the seasons to keep the good vibes flowing.

Jamiroquai - Feel So Good (Knee Deep Remix).
I think if I chose a song and it wasn't Jamiroquai, the rest of the team would be looking at me like, "what's wrong?" They can't escape the funky, upbeat sounds that I can't seem to turn off. No matter what kind of day I'm having, that infectious, feel-good energy is something I can rely on via this track every single time and hopefully it translates into a fun vibe for everyone who comes through the doors.

Geese - Taxes.
Come on, it's Geese! Since their album came out last September, I've been obsessed. It's exciting to come across something fresh that takes you away. I know Geese have been in the spotlight a lot lately, but I think they deserve it and I'm not done shouting about them just yet. I could have picked any song from this album, but I'm choosing Taxes. I love listening to it when I'm opening the shop, it sets the tone right for the day.

Meguro - BLOW.
I can't believe this contemporary funk/synth pop band with a slight retro-futuristic feel is not super popular already! The whole album Shake the Disease (it came just after the second lockdown when we all really needed just good vibes) has got some great tunes, but Meguro does indeed stand out (I absolutely love that baseline!!). I played it in the shop for the first time on a cold Friday evening around 6 o'clock and someone trying on a few shirts started dancing to it and said "that's just the perfect vibe to start the weekend".

Let's Dance - David Bowie.
Old but GOLD. After all these years, “Let’s Dance” still cuts straight through whatever mood I’m in. It’s like flipping a switch and gives me permission to move, shout, and let go. Playing it loud on my birthday is a small ritual for me now. No irony; just noise, movement, and the reminder that joy still works if you let it. Beneath the shine, the song is about shaking off fear, trusting the moment, and finding connection in an uncertain world. Pretty perfect for now if you ask me!
